Vanessa Hudson was appointed to the role of Chief Customer Officer in February 2018 (previously Vanessa was Qantas Executive Manager Sales & Distribution). With a career spanning nearly 25 years in the airline industry, Vanessa has held a diverse range of senior commercial, customer, operational and financial positions across the Qantas business. Vanessa returned to Australia in 2015 after two years in the United States as Qantas’ Senior Executive Vice President, The Americas, where she was responsible for all aspects of Qantas’ commercial operations for the United States, Canada and South America. Prior to this role, Vanessa served as the company’s Executive Manager of Commercial Planning in Sydney, accountable for strategy development, network planning, revenue management and securing vital airport infrastructure, serving both the Domestic and International business divisions. She was instrumental in the development and management of the Airbus A380 product, introduction of Premium Economy and the Domestic Next Generation check-in product, as well as the flagship First Class lounges in Sydney, Melbourne and London, during her 5 year tenure as Executive Manager of Product & Services. Born and raised in Australia, Vanessa attended the University of Technology earning a Business degree in accounting and finance and successfully completed her Chartered Accounting qualifications in 1994 with Deloitte.
